Our shock and vibration isolation modeling and simulation tool is designed for all types of applications.

Developed by The SOCITEC Group, SYMOS is a software application that is used to analyze the behavior of mechanical systems exposed to both linear and nonlinear shocks and vibrations. From initial isolator selection during the quoting phase to final application validation, we utilize SYMOS to model and simulate entire systems in complex environments. Capable of adjusting performance levels and running detailed numerical simulations across a wide range of complex applications, SYMOS operates with multiple degrees of freedom to deliver comprehensive and precise results

I use SYMOS on a daily basis to simulate how our isolators well perform for specific applications. The ability to define specific dynamic inputs based on standards and internal design rules help us fine-tune isolator selections and save our customers from having to resort to expensive testing. It’s great to see how our simulations match up with the actual results during qualification tests and real world situations.

We also integrate our clients' specific needs into SYMOS, including the use of on-site measured data, to simulate customized solutions that align with their exact use cases.
SYMOS offers 3 simulation levels:

The first level is designed to define and select the ideal isolation system based on a specific need.

The second level allows for the active modeling and simulation of a complex system in its environment to validate the isolator selection. It also enables the sharing of the resulting accelerations and displacements after isolation, helping assess energy absorption efficiency and qualify the solution with the customer.

The third level, in collaboration with ANSYS, incorporates finite element analysis to examine both shock and vibration protection from the isolators and the customer's system behavior. It assists the client in dimensioning their structure and verifies, through simulation, that the proposed interface meets expectations, while also evaluating the customer's interface.
